Almost everyone is moving towards Instagram because of its popularity and who doesn’t enjoy flexing thousands of likes on their pictures. But Instagram is taking away your happiness soon. In April, the company announced that it is working on to hide the number of likes from its platform. That means you will not be able to see the number of likes on your friend’s pictures. The beta test has already started in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Japan, and New Zealand.
The feature is rolling out in the US by the Next Week
The CEO of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, recently announced at Wired25 about their plan to start testing this feature in the United States as well.
The feature to hide the number of likes will roll out the next week in the US and users based in the region will be restricted to view the number of likes on each other’s posts.

The feature has been rolled out in a lot of countries as of writing. This is being done in order to promote the digital wellbeing of the user. As per the reports of mental health institutions, the number of likes and popularity causes distress among the people and hiding the number of likes is the best way to deal with it.
Although, the owners will still be able to see the number of likes they have been receiving on their posts. Instagram while announcing this feature stated that “We want your followers to focus on what you share, not how many likes your posts get.”
