Three gem scientists in the world of Physics namely, James Peebles, Michel Mayor, and Didier Queloz were announced as 2019’s winners at a ceremony, which held in Stockholm.
Three of them have been engaged in universal discoveries regarding Physics for a major number of years. While James Peebles worked on the evolution of the universe, Mayor and Queloz won for their discovery of a planet around a Sun-like star.
A total sum of nine million kronor (£738,000) prize money was awarded and will be shared between the three scientists.
Professor Queloz, on coming across BBC News, expressed that as it has been a long time since the discovery, he almost forgot about and never really saw it coming. He further added that when so many great Physics discoveries are happening every day, considering his discovery to come true, was something really unexpected. However, the professor said that it will take some time for him to digest the recently achieved success.

It is quite an achievement for the scientists who devote their lives to discover something which enlightens mankind. There was a series of best wishes messages and congratulations speeches and honorable ceremonies conducted for them, to bring forth their discoveries, regarding Earth.
